So what is it?

CrossFit is is a core strength and conditioning program.  The aim of CrossFit is to forge a broad, general and inclusive fitness. Our CrossFit program is designed to prepare athletes for  any physical contingency — not only for the unknown, but for the unknowable.

CrossFit is often seen as an intense and more rigorous exercise regimen – and while it can be, we focus on implementing CrossFit for everyone. From moms & students to elite athletes & grandparents and everyone in between. We scale workouts to fit an individual’s current fitness level and their fitness goals.  Our members make up a diverse and tight-knit community that support each other in their fitness goals.

Why do CrossFit?

Simply put, it works. How many times in your life did you go to the local globo gym, sign up, go for a few weeks or months, and then find yourself sitting at home with no motivation to go back in? We all have done it. The same old routines, on the same old machines that leaves us with no instruction on how to use them other than the silly pictures on the side. But that's not you! You are here reading this now because you heard about this CrossFit thing somewhere and thought, I'm tired of where I am and I'm ready for something new

In our CrossFit classes, elements of gymnastics, Olympic weightlifting, powerlifting, sprinting, rowing and jumping are all combined into one program to help you achieve elite fitness. This is the only program capable of simultaneously developing your endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, agility, balance, coordination, and accuracy.

All of these principles are applied to a small group class where training with your friends does more than make the experience a ton of fun. Our CrossFit classes are all about team spirit and motivation. Whether you consider yourself a competitive CrossFitter or not, seeing others around you perform will instinctively push you to be your very best. Training with others also holds you accountable to staying on track. Miss a workout? It probably won’t go unnoticed. Chances are, you’ll get texts and Facebook messages from your friends asking where you are. If you are having trouble getting motivated or have a tendency to fall off of the fitness wagon, then this is the place for you.

At Ampersand, we take it a step further than your average gym. With all of the elements of CrossFit in mind, we focus on the big picture and the reason of WHY. Why do we do this?
